Room was clean and staff were welcoming. Worth the money for the executive suite with spa
Absolutely fantastic. Will definitely stay at this hotel again. Close to everything, and the staff were fabulous !
Very comfortable, clean & great location. Staff kind & welcoming & accommodating Wonderful value for money, only one complaint, as we're living in 21st century free wifi would have been a bonus
This is my 2nd stay at The Royce Hotel. The first time was excellent, but this stay was very disappointing due to the fact the Hotel was at full capacity, therefore the hotels hot water service was not functioning, so no hot water in rooms, needless to say a cold shower was on offer. Hotel did not offer any kind of Refund.
We booked our stay a year in advance ready for the ANZAC centenary dawn service at the Shine of Rememberance. This hotel is in the perfect location to trams and entertainment of the southern side of town. The room was fantasic, one of the best that I have had recently and even though the room fronted St.Kilda Road it was very quiet given its double glazing to the windows. The Bed was very comfortable with a good selection of pillows and the scent of the bed was very welcoming. The electronic lighting system within the room we found a bit confusing but we were able to achieve what we needed eventually. A small balcony at the front of the unit overlooking St.Kilda Road was nicely shaded by a grand old tree and the whole feel of the hotel was quite opulent. Negative: Parking is on a first in best dressed basis at $25-00 for the overnight stay otherwise you are forced to park on St.Kilda road, not a great choice even if you are opposite the St.Kilda Road Police headquarters. There is only around 20 parking spots in the basement which is accessed through Valet. Service within the Retaurant for breakfast was poor and one waitress rudely threw my suit jacket which had all my medals on it from hanging on a chair that was part of our table into my lap as she quickly ussered the chair away without even offering to hang it elsewhere. I found this extremely rude and further request for coffee (additional cost for barrista coffee) met with an abrupt reuest for $4- per cup otherwise your choice is brewed. This is not really upto standard for a 5 Star hotel and the management need to review this policy. WiFi access carries an additional charge also..this is unacceptable in this day and age when almost all establishments are now offering free WiFi. I also do not understand why the hotel let in general public to the restaurant for breakfast when Hotel patrons could not obtain a table, this is very poor and I overheard a number of guests complaining about this fact. Summary: Great Location, fantastic clean rooms with comfy beds, Staff need better customer service skills especially if this is a 5 Star Hotel. I would stay again at a less busy time to hopefully have the staff redeem themselves.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms are beautiful, so clean and the staff were great. Will definately be staying here again.
Beautifully appointed hotel, front desk staff not very friendly, felt like we were a hassle when we checked in. overall the hotel was a enjoyable stay
If you like something with class, flair, modernity and with an art deco bent you will love the Royce. I have stayed at this hotel on at least five occasions and have enjoyed it every time. There is an interesting range of rooms, but when you travel for business, it's the small things that make you efficient on the road. Other than a pool, all facilities are in the hotel should you need it. It has a great public bar, a brilliant restaurant and its a quick 5 minute ride to the city in a cab or 8 in a tram.
Quite disappointed with the hotel which i thought would be 5 star. Not even have the bathrobes in the Exective room.
We always stay at the Royce when we go to Melbourne. It's in a great location on St Kilda Rd, very close to the Botanical Gardens, a quick tram trip to the city or Chapel St and we always feel welcomed and appreciated. The staff will always greet you with a smile and a hello, the breakfast buffet hits the spot and the rooms are comfortable and smart. Why go anywhere else?
Four time we have stayed excellent as always will return again soon
The room was very cold and our view was the hotel roof top. Just felt like there was something missing. For that price point I felt I should have got something more!!
Not only was our room, big, and comfortable but also so well designed we were able to section of for some privacy. Great room, service and breakfast was great too. Will definitely go back
The only positive thing I can say is the food in "Dish" restaurant was great. Everything else was disappointing. Very poor internet. Overall I think there are better options.
We chose to stay at the Royce because we were attending a wedding and the reception was being held there. It is in such a convenient location. The rooms are very well appointed and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming. The breakfast was really good and the staff in the dining room couldn't have been more helpful.
We loved The Royce, great location, very comfortable , lovely decor, friendly staff , buffet breakfast one of the best we've had. Will definitely be back
Great room and wonderful buffet breakfast. Had a great time
Attending a performance in the Botanical Gardens meant we needed accommodation close by. The Royce Hotel was ideal. A short walk to the show and a downhill stroll back afterwards. Very convenient. Very pleasant. We shall remember this one for all the right reasons.
Locations is great, easy access to city, beach, South Yarra and Chapel st. shopping. Great restaurants nearby. Cool decorating and ambiance, comfy bed. Will definitely return, we are retired tree-changers returning for a party in Melbourne.
A very relaxing and enjoyable time. Enjoyed our drinks in the Amber Room and especially the live music on Thursday night. Great lunch in The Dish on Friday with attentive and pleasant service. We will be back!
